Christopher Michael “Chris” Cooley (born July 11, 1982 in Powell, Wyoming) is an American football tight end for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Redskins in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Utah State. In 2004, Cooley was drafted with the 81st pick in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. On October 26, 2009, in a Monday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Chris Cooley sustained a break to his ankle. It was initially speculated that Cooley would miss the remainder of the 2009 season. On October 27, 2009, Cooley commeneted via Twitter that the break may not be as bad as originally thought and that he could possibly return in as little as four weeks.
